Southeastern Health Partners names Lu Bowman Clinical Performance Director
Southeastern Health Partners (SEHP) announced Lu Bowman, MSN, RN, CCM as its new clinical performance director.
Bowman is a seasoned healthcare professional with 25 years of experience, including the past 14 years specializing in clinical transformation, care coordination, and value-based care. Her passion for advancing care models began as an embedded care manager and diabetes educator in a medical home primary care practice. This experience sparked her interest in improving patient outcomes at the population level, guiding her career path through roles such as ACO Program Manager, CIN Quality Director, and Care Coordination Leader at both market and system levels for a major health system.
Lu is passionate about developing innovative solutions that streamline processes, reduce the burden on care teams, and improve patient outcomes. She notably created an employee care management program that currently supports more than 60,000 associates and their families. She also led the centralization and standardization of ten care management teams across two separate EMR instances.
With her clinical experience, Bowman will work closely with SEHP’s partners and their leadership teams to determine specific improvement opportunities and help payor partners determine actionable steps with individual performing health systems.
Southeastern Health Partners is a Clinically Integrated Network in the Upstate of South Carolina. SEHP is a joint venture between AnMed Health, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, Self Regional Health System and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System with over 3,700 providers and managing over 100,000 members in value-based health care.
“We are pleased for Lu to continue her healthcare leadership with Southeastern Health Partners,” said Keith Newnam, CEO at Southeastern Health Partners. “Lu has been instrumental in leading teams in the design and delivery of many positive value-based patient-centric programs. Her experience in utilization management with a quality focus will be a great asset to our clinically integrated network.”
Lu holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona College of Nursing and is a Certified Case Manager. She has been a featured speaker at national care management conferences, sharing her expertise in data-informed care management as a key driver of value-based performance.
Outside of her professional life, Lu and her husband Bill love spending time with their three grown sons, two grandchildren, and their dog, Ellie May. A Virginia native, she enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and star gazing.
She began her new role on December 9.
